Protest in Islamia College: Student demand online examination

Srinagar, Dec 7, : The students of 1st, 3rd and 5th

Semester Monday staged a massive protest in the premises of Islamia College Srinagar demanding the College to conduct their exams in online mode instead of the offline exams.

Students-both boys and girls assembled outside the office of Principal Islamia College and raised slogans in their favour.

“We demand online examination. When online examination can be conducted for other students, why can’t for us,” said protesting students.

They accused Principal of ‘harassment’ saying that he doesn’t listen to anyone, even he is not willing to listen to the genuine demands of students.

“If the Principal is not ready to conduct online examination for us, at least he should give relaxation,” they said.

They said they didn’t get too much time for preparation due to Covid-19 pandemic. “When there is no problem in online classes why the college has problem with online examination,” they questioned.

The protesting students were pacified by a police party.

Attempts to contact College Principal didn’t materialize.
